Bug Description

I'm using Ubuntu Lucid and Exaile 0.3.2.0 downloaded from the PPA (http://ppa.launchpad.net/exaile-devel/ppa/ubuntu lucid main). The problem is, after upgrading to this version, Exaile tends to crash at random. By crashing I mean Exaile quits and everything looks as if it has never been launched.
What I observed was that it crashed at the attempt to add new items to the playlist but just a few minutes ago it crashed without any apparent reason - I added several songs to the playlist and left the computer. Exaile played one track, began to play the second one and closed after some 3-5 seconds.

If I need to attach or add something - just tell me :)

Apart from using Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick (64-bit), I experience exactly the same symptoms. Not reproducible, but occurs frequently enough to be a problem. No obvious pattern or common circumstances.

Exaile 0.3.2.0 from Ubuntu repos.

Next time you run exaile use the command :
exaile > exaile.log
this will send the programs standard output to a file and it might give some indication as to what the problem is

I have the same problem since serveral months. It crashes most often after adding FLAC files - but not immediately but after playing several seconds of it (or even without playing - if I don't hit play it crashes anyway after adding the files to queue - I thought the reason was looking for covers but I disabled it and the problem didn't go away).
The log is simple - Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server - it's already submited here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/exaile/+bug/566626 and here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/exaile/+bug/566626 - there is some explanation there with additional logs. I hope it'll be fix because right now I have to use Clementine for FLAC files.

I tried starting exaile this way:

python -m trace --trace --trackcalls /usr/lib/exaile/exaile.py --datadir=/usr/share/exaile/data --startgui

But it didn't want to crash then. :P
