EULA acceptance Crashes Skype to 'lock screen' and wipes Desktop

Linuxmint 10
After installing Skype, click the app in mint menu, It opens to a "Accept terms and Conditions" dialog, as the mouse enters this dialog, Mint crashes to a "Lock Screen", enter your password and it goes back to an empty desktop, skype and any other application are closed.
I've seen this problem crop up on linuxmint-help four times now. Me myself, have no problems with skype , I run M10 64bit, maybe that is the difference, I face palm now as I did not ask if they were 32bit or 64bit.
Unfortunately, I don't have any constructive logs to show what's causing this and hope any who have this trouble and more information will add to this.
