Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions:

1. Is this reproducible?
2. If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? Be as detailed as possible.
3. Which version of banshee do you use? please could you attach a screenshot of this issue?

This will help us to find and resolve the problem.

I've noticed this problem as well, although it was not persistent. I have observed this behaviour from time to time but have not been able to reproduce it.

This looks like the bug I filed on the Bugzilla tracker:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=639947

According to Gabriel Burt (Banshee Developer), it's not an upstream issue:

"I really don't think this is our problem. My guess is Debian or Ubuntu's
packaging system/process is messing up our source code, not treating it as UTF-8. Please file on Launchpad."

I've attached screenshots - this is still affecting me in Banshee 2.0

Thanks

Please could anybody confirm if this behaviour is still occurring with latest banshee version included in the final Ubuntu Natty Narwhal release?

This seems to be fixed in Banshee 2.0 (2.0.0) on Ubuntu Natty 11.04. Screenshot is attached.
