Bug Description
Binary package hint: php5-fpm
Using "-y" (or the long form) to pass the php-fpm config causes the childrens to segfault/exit immediately.
This has just been fixed upstream and should get into a SRU, otherwise php-fpm is not usable.
Also, the default config should get specified during "configure" to point at /etc/php5/

Hi Daniel, this looks legitimate (though I'd have liked for the status to stay New so that we could evaluate the Triaged status with our usual process).
I took a stab at cherry picking the commit that fixed the bug upstream, but it seems there have been a number of other commits to the same code that make cherry picking that particular one impossible, or at the very least, very difficult.
I think the plan of action should probably be to have this fix arrive via PHP 5.3.4, and then backport the entire FPM sapi from 5.3.4 at that time as an SRU. Otherwise we're trying to hit a fast moving target that will only exist in Ubuntu.
