Bug Description

There is no translations available for the gnome-orca package, neither in the source nor in Rosetta. However upstream source does include po files.

According to the build log (http://librarian.launchpad.net/4788768/buildlog_ubuntu-edgy-i386.gnome-orca_1.0.0-0ubuntu4_FULLYBUILT.txt.gz) this should have worked just fine.

The generated file doesn't include a PO template (something like po/orca.pot or po/gnome-orca.pot). When that is fixed, everything will work fine.

By who and when should the PO template be generated? Is it an upstream problem, or is it the maintainer job?
I want to be sure the problem will be solved at least for Feisty.

I can confirm this on Feisty, with both German and Spanish.

Carlos, Danilo: what is the next action item here? Do you need to fix something in Rosetta or should I speak with upstream?

Feisty translations are not yet imported in Rosetta. We are working on it right now so it's normal that you don't have it there.

About who should generate the .pot file, is a task of the packager in Ubuntu. There is a special rule to call on build time that all GNOME packages do. As far as I know, danilo already talked with the maintainer in Ubuntu that should do this.

Yesterday I fixed by hand Edgy to have gnome-orca imported and also approved Feisty's version.

They should be deployed with next language pack.
