My Hardware:
motherboard: asus m4a78t-e
cpu: amd phenom II X4 quad-core 965 BE (3.4Ghz)
VideoCard: Ati readon 5670 512mb DDR5
I DON'T HAVE A FLOPPY DRIVER!!
The xubuntu10.10's live session doesn't start for an error like this:
end_request: I/O error, device fd0, sector 0
Buffer I/O error on device fd0, logical block 0
in ubuntu10.10 and kubuntu10.10 these errors don't appears. (amd64)
i have found this bug that seems the same: https:/
the md5 is right and the floppy disk isn't enabled from bios.

I had the same problem a few minutes ago, booting karmic daily from usb.
Disabling floppy in bios solves the problem (with my mainboard).
Can you verify disabling floppy boot from your bios ?
