Bug Description

Binary package hint: vlc

Hi.

I have kubuntu 10.10. I have a Netgear Stora home server/nas. Without changing any configurations the nas works great in kubuntu, you just navigate the workgroup etc in dolphin and put your username and pass in (which it remembers) and then you can use like any local folders. Except VLC won't play any movie files. I bought the NAS so I could stream movies in different rooms of my house on different laptops/pcs - all which run kubuntu 10.10.

Please help.

Everyway you try to open something it you get the error: "VLC can only open local files"

There is no such error message in VLC. In fact, VLC can read files through SMB. Please reassign the bug to the software component that shows the error message.
