Bug Description

Binary package hint: net-tools

Hi, I'm testing maverick in VirtualBox 3.2.8. Sometimes when openvpn reconnect to the server something goes wrong, nothing is alerted in syslog or messages but the system is not reachable through the vpn. If I try to restart openvpn, restart networking or also apache2, the system freeze. I can't execute ifconfig (no output) and I can't kill quit process with CTRL+C. The host becomes unreachable through SSH and no reboot is possible: I have to reset the machine.

I tried to solve the problem recompiling openvpn (the latest official build 2.1.3), downgrading to the 2.6.32-25 kernel, changing the "virtual" adapter from intel e1000 module to virtio-net... but nothing was successfull.

I solved the problem only downgrading package net-tools to 1.60-23-ubuntu2 (the one installed by maverick was 1.60-23-ubuntu3).
