Bug Description

Playback is jerky with h.264 videos.
For example, if you watch a video in Totem with the Arte plugin (I maintain the relative package), GStreamer only plays half frames.

Upstream bug report: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=630088

This bug was fixed by upstream in this commit: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gst-plugins-good/commit/?id=9e7b890a22507f06a34ed7f7956fb02392348187

I confirm that this fix works as expected, h.264 videos are now smooth (as in VLC or MPlayer).

I attached a debdiff.
Please, backport this to Maverick!

@Mythbuntu Devs, is this something critical for your 10.10 release?

This is critical for totem-plugin-arte and in general for FLV files containing h264 video. I can only agree that we should include this patch.

Mythbuntu doesn't use gstreamer at all, so not a big deal one way or the other for us.

Any chance we can pick up this patch in time for Maverick? Video playback is a core function for many many of our users.

Nicolas, I've added an LP: #bugnumber changes to the changelog, hope that's ok for you.

I don't why but this update makes my XVID MPEG-4 (624 x 352) videoclips stutter when I play them. If I install 0.10.25-4ubuntu1 I'm unable to reproduce the issue. This is weird as I don't think flvdemux is used for XVID MPEG-4.

Ignore my comment, it was an issue with the mode that I was using on my HDTV.
