Persistent check box despite cancelling preference changes

After the preferences dialog is opened, the "Show notification area icon" box (possibly the other box also) is then checked , and then the "Cancel" button is clicked, a reopening of the preferences dialog will show the "Show notification area icon" box in a checked state even though there is no icon in the notification area. A subsequent clicking of the "Ok" button in this state will cause the notification area icon to appear as suspected. The expected "normal" behavior of the preferences dialog involves a return to the previous state when the "Cancel" button is clicked. It may be worth mentioning that the "Last.fm Scrobbling" button also does not return to the previous state when the the "Cancel" button is clicked.
