Bug Description

Hi folks !

That is to say :

"After the start of grub, the screen displays an 'out of scan' message and thus there's no bootsplash, then once gdm is launched everything comes back to normal. I got this bug since kernel 2.6.17.8 (actual kernel is now 2.6.17.9), before that, with older versions, that was ok."

What about some wrong vgamode parameter sent to the kernel at boot time ?

Try this at the command line:

sudo nano /etc/usplash.conf

It should look similar to the following:

# Usplash configuration file
xres=1024
yres=768

If you make changes, make sure you issue the following command:

sudo update-initramfs -u

Changed in usplash:
importance: Undecided → Low
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info
