Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox-ubuntuone-music-store

in rhythmbox when trying to connect i get a Connecting message that never dissapears no matter what...
same with banshee as well, also i have tried several commands like

u1sdtool -q; killall ubuntuone-login; u1sdtool -c

u1sdtool -s

which gives

 State: QUEUE_MANAGER
    connection: With User With Network
    description: processing queues
    is_connected: True
    is_error: False
    is_online: True
    queues: IDLE

again i dont know whats wrong i uninstalled and reinstalled rhythmox and the plugin but the same problem occurs...

this only occurs on the my desktop but not my netbook... very strange

Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Release: 10.04

Package : rhythmbox-ubuntuone-music-store 0.0.9-0ubuntu1 and possibly rhythmbox.

also: i am using amd64 on the desktop while my netbook uses i386... so i think this is a 64 bit ubuntu issue.

Thank You.

I am seeing the same thing, only on Maverick. One thing I did notice, was when clicking checkout I got the new desktop sso login dialog. After logging in it saw this "connecting" screen which won't go away. It persists across reboots, I just can't load the music store plugin. This is what I am seeing on the console:

It would also be nice to have a workaround such as adding the Music Store checkout to https://one.ubuntu.com/ preferably with a hyperlink in https://one.ubuntu.com/music/. That's assuming that once you've selected your music tracks they are in a shopping cart somewhere in the internet.

Are we sure that it's for volunteers to answer?

This is about the interface between Rhythmbox and the Music Store. There is also the possibility that the Music Store isn't easy for Rhythmbox to connect to. 7digital are a business with customers waiting to buy. They have an interest in looking at this, but Ubuntu One doesn't have a page for selling music let alone for reporting technical problems and we can only report through the package we're using.

If someone more involved with Ubuntu has contact with 7digital, it would be nice to let them know about this bug.

I am very happy to wait for the volunteers who have been kind enough to provide me with Rhythmbox.

The tokens created by Ubuntu SSO are not recognized yet by our server, so the music store tries to authenticate a few times, with no success. We are working on fixing that on the server, but at least, the music store should show an error, so working on that

I've seen a couple of people suggest that its a problem occurring in 64 bit architecture.

For all of you who think it might only be in 64 bit architecture. I have the problem and I use I386, and am quite happy to leave Rodrigo to get on with it whenever he finds time.
