I have been running UBUNTU on a 40GB WD drive and installed this 15GB drive to try KUBUNTU and see which version I liked better. I seem to be moving ahead on a trial and error basis, but gaining experience. I like UBUNTU, but would like the WIndows like desktop of KUBUNTU. Is there a hybrid, or way to put the KUBUNtu desktop on UBUNTU and keep the other applications like Firefox.

Heya,

FWIW you can install KDE in a standard Ubuntu, the guide is here:

http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/kde

Besides that, there is not enough information to accurately attempt to find a fix for your first issue, if the bios or windows can't see the drive, then that is an issue for those people.

Again fwiw there was some discussion here:

http://superuser.com/questions/264265/bios-doesnt-see-harddrive-but-debian-does

Which suggests it might be something in your BIOS like RAID being enabled.

I'm going to close this bug report, but if you have any more information or still have the issue feel free to re-open by going to status and selecting new.

Thanks :)
