Bug Description

Binary package hint: mplayer

TEST CASE:
1) run the command: mplayer http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/testsuite/msvc.avi
in a terminal.

Symptom:
Unsupported PixelFormat 10 in the commandline output

VERIFICATION DONE:
The command as specified in the TEST CASE should play the avi file properly.

Original report:
In Lucid Lynx there seems to be a regression. Specifically, as the second comment here, http://blog.gmane.org/gmane.comp.video.mplayer.devel/month=20090401, notes there has been a regression resulting in some videos reporting "Unsupported PixelFormat 10". It sounds as if a patch to development branch r29117, http://lists.mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/mplayer-cvslog/2009-April/036930.html, fixes the problem. The above second comment gives a link to a video, http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/testsuite/msvc.avi, to both test for the bug and as a basis to confirm it is fixed with the mentioned patch.

mplayer rc4, which is included in both maverick and the motumedia PPA for lucid, fixes this issue.

SRU verification for Lucid:
I have reproduced the problem with mplayer 2:1.0~rc3+svn20090426-1ubuntu16 in lucid and have verified that the version of mplayer 2:1.0~rc3+svn20090426-1ubuntu16.1 in -proposed fixes the issue.
