Bug Description

Binary package hint: vlc

The users who need the GUI-less version of VLC usually installs the vlc-nox package but it doesn't provide the H.264 codec plugin, which doesn't have requirement for any library related to X.

So please move libx264_plugin.so from vlc to vlc-nox package.

Triaged was the correct status. Alessio, do you think this change is worth a SRU?

Do you have a debdiff for maverick?

Alessio Treglia (quadrispro) wrote :

Yes but we have to wait before uploading packages to maverick, the archives are still frozen.

If you agree, I could push the changes into Debian Multimedia's git branch for now.

Looks fine, please upload.

Please note that it's not necessary to explicitly upload to maverick. We can copy lucid-proposed to maverick, as long as lucid as long as there was no upload to maverick of that package yet.

Accepted into lucid-proposed, the package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!
