Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

Ubiquity in Kubuntu Lucid RC does not allow installation in any other drive than hd0.
This is not acceptable for dual boot installations and must be fixed before final release.

Yes, I did a manual partitioning and then clicked on the advanced tab to select hd2 where my Kubuntu installation is. It only gave me hd0

The drop down box for bootloader installation only contains the disk block device (/dev/sda in this case). In the GTK+ frontend we use a ComboboxEntry, with grub/linux device format validation of what the user puts in the entry box.

summary: - Installer only allows installations of MBR in hd0
+ KDE frontend only allows bootloader installation to the MBR.

  * Don't configure the boot loader in oem-config. By definition, we've
    already succeeded in booting, and repeating the process is at best a
    no-op and at worst harmful.
  * debconf frontend:
    - Make sure that progress bars are never nested, as this only works when
      using debconffilter (LP: #530027).
  * Automatic update of included source packages: console-setup
    1.34ubuntu15, flash-kernel 2.13ubuntu17, hw-detect 1.73ubuntu4,
    migration-assistant 0.6.5, partman-auto 89ubuntu8, partman-partitioning
    72ubuntu4.

  * Fix for (LP: #568890) show all partitions in advanced dialog
