Bug Description

In the Lucid TI OMAP kernel, NetworkManager and wicd, as well as all command line tools such as iwlist, fail to work. This seems to be due to CONFIG_CFG80211_WEXT being disabled.

Example error from NetworkManager:
NetworkManager: <WARN> wireless_get_range(): (wlan0): couldn't get driver range information (95).
NetworkManager: <WARN> constructor(): (wlan0): Device unsupported, ignoring.

@ Dana Goyette,

The flag is already set in Maverick, please test with that kernel. If this works to your convenience the bug will be back ported to Lucid.

Kernel:
https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick/armel/linux-image-2.6.34-5-omap/2.6.34-5.12

To install:

ubuntu@beagleboard:~$ sudo dpkg -i linux-image-2.6.34-5-omap_2.6.34-5.12_armel.deb

Once extracted keep in mind to update the uImage and uInitrd before rebooting.
