Bug Description

Ubuntu 10.04 Live CD boot process hangs on the "Ubuntu" screen showing "Ubuntu" and five orange dots on my dual-monitorsystem. The mouse cursor never appears. The "Try Ubuntu / Install Ubuntu" dialog never appears. The system does not respond to keyboard. Powering off the system (long-press of the power button) and unplugging the second monitor helps. The system can boot and I get the "Try/Install" dialog with the Live CD when only one monitor is plugged in.

Both 10.04 Beta 1 and 10.04 Beta 2 have this problem.

Since my system hangs before I can use Ubuntu tools for reporting bugs, I am using a Windows system to report this bug. I will be happy to collect additional information about my system using Windows tools or possibly previous versions of Ubuntu (provided that they do not have the same problem). Some key information about my system is provided here:

Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250, 1024 Mb of video RAM
Dell Dimension XPS 600, 3.46 GHz, 6 Gb of RAM
Ubuntu 10.04 AMD 64-bit - Beta 1 and Beta 2 Live CDs
