Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Script /usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.4/thunderbird.sh checks for profile folders from previous thunderbird versions, gets confused.

Scenario: Profile is in .thunderbird. First run works fine, but Thunderbird creates files in folder .mozilla-thunderbird/../. On next start, script /usr/lib/thunderbird-3.0.4/thunderbird.sh finds "old" folder .mozilla-thunderbird, moves .thunderbird to .thunderbird-upstream and .mozilla-thunderbird to .thunderbird. Last folder, not containing a usable profile any more is used.

Workaround: Once your working profile is in .thunderbird, comment or "echo" this line:

mv $HOMEDIR/$CURRENT $HOMEDIR/$CURRENT.upstream

Thunderbird stopped starting for me this morning after the update. I don't know if this bugfix was included in the update or not.

But deleting the broken private links in my home folder (.mozilla-thunderbird and .thunderbird) and renaming the .thunderbird-upstream folder back to .mozilla-thunderbird, now thunderbird is starting up again.
