Bug Description

Binary package hint: kopete

I am trying to connect to Google Talk. Since my college firewall blocks other ports I have to use 443.
Port 443 is supported by google for the host talk.google.com
But I am unable to connect to the server. I am using Kubuntu 10.04 beta1 with all the latest updates.
I have installed libqca2, libqca2-plugin-ossl, qca-tls

I have selected Use protocol encryption and Allow plain-text password authentication and override default server information

Please consult with your network administrator.

According to various statements across blogs and forums kopete works just fine with 443.

Changed in kopete (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

It can't be my network problem because, Psi and Pidgin both are able to
connect.
Can someone please help me find out why it's not working?
