Bug Description

Binary package hint: gdm

1. Boot into regular Lucid UNE
2. Go to System > Administration > Login Screen
3. Unlock the application
4. Select "Login as <my username> automatically" and click Close
5. Restart
6. System skips login and boots into Lucid Desktop (no UNE)

If I change the Login Screen setting back to "Show the screen for choosing who will log in" it still boots me into Lucid Desktop (no UNE). No way to get back to the UNE interface.

It seems that my changes about default session has been lost in 2.29.92-0ubuntu5 merge. I've just uploaded 2.29.92-0ubuntu7 which should push back the needed bits.

Can you confirm it's fixed? (tested and it works for me)

Didier - Tested on my UNE system and it's fixed :)

The "Select" text is quite long so the Login Screen Settings menu leaves about 1 inch on either side of my 9 inch Dell mini. Any chance to shorten some of the descriptive text for each dropdown option? I don't know if there are standards for these things but perhaps not using complete sentences. For example, instead of "This session logs you into a 2D Ubuntu Netbook Edition", use "Log into a 2D ubuntu Netbook Edition". Thanks!

The translation comes from the .destkop file in the session. I agree that it's a little bit large, but we are past string freeze and don't think we can have it as a delta with upstream, and as we want to avoid tooltip… not really sure what can be done here.

(it's even worse in French ;)).
