Bug Description

It seems that at the last built of Nanny package for Karmic and Lucid, the Python's library gtop is missed so the package won't be installed unless you have it already in your system.

Package versions affected are: from version 2.29.1-0ubuntu1 to 2.29.3-0ubuntu2
OS version: Ubuntu Karmic and Ubuntu Lucid

This bug has been reported at upstream:

The problem was a leak of one dependency: python-gtop

Now the dependency was added to the karmic and lucid branches so the bug is solved. I'm going to rebuild the packages so the PPA will have the right version.

I treid now to install the package from the ppa. It doesn't resolve the dependencies: I was getting the same error as before (no module named gtop). I installed the package "python-gtop" from apt-get then installed "nanny" and everything was ok. I don't know if this is a repository update problem, maybe it will fix automatically in a few hours.

Could you tell me which package version did you install?

A 'dpkg -l nanny' output would be great :-)

Probably the PPA wasn't updated yet.

Same thing here. Looking at PPAs on https://launchpad.net/~guadalinex-members/+archive/ppa/+packages , it seem that nanny - 2.29.1-0ubuntu1 is the last version available for Karmic and Lucid.
The latest version (nanny - 2.29.3-0ubuntu2) is available only for Jaunty!

Yes, you're right, it was the wrong PPA. This one does resolve the bug.

BTW: maybe it's better to place a BIG link to this Personal package archives on the https://launchpad.net/nanny page ;-)

Nico, you're so right. I just linked it at the Launchpad Nanny's page (http://launchpad.net/nanny) as you were pointed.

Thanks
