Bug Description

My laptop's sound card requires the setting "model=3stack" appended to the snd-hda-intel module. It's a Toshiba Satellite L40-10Q. All other required information should be attached to this bug report. Confirmed in Lucid Alpha 2.

This fix is included in the just-released ALSA 1.0.23. From the changelog:

    - ALSA: hda: Use 3stack quirk for Toshiba Satellite L40-10Q
    BugLink: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/524948
The OR has verified that the existing model=laptop-eapd quirk does not
function correctly but instead needs model=3stack. Make this change
so that manual corrections to module-init-tools file(s) are not
    required.

This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-lucid' to 'verification-done-lucid'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!
