[regression from 2.6.12] parport_pc panics on Toshiba Satellite 2545XCDT

Bug Description

I upgraded my craptop to Dapper, and discovered that it would panic during boot. I eventually tracked this down to the parport_pc module, and with it blacklisted, the system boots and runs fine.

The call trace is long, but the bottom of it which I can see on the screen indicates a bad EIP value inside a select(), down below the filesystem layer somewhere. Perhaps memory corruption of some sort? I can get the trace if you think it'd be useful, though it doesn't include any parport_pc or related code.

The laptop is in storage and I can't test, so I'm rejecting my own bug. Perhaps someone else will come along who has experienced a similar problem.
