Bug Description
Binary package hint: cairo-dock
The Karmic release (2.0.9) is no longer maintained. This branch (2.1.x) brings several improvements, removes deprecated plug-ins, and fixes a huge amount of bugs.
It has a much better support of ATI and Intel graphic cards, which was very incomplete before (the dock runs with OpenGL).
It also brings a user-friendly configuration panel,
The code has been cleant and several critical crashes have been fixed.
It also switches from wget to curl, in order to connect to the themes server (a bug in wget prevents the dock from loading any theme in Karmic).
It also brings a brand new DBus API, which makes posible to write plug-ins in any languages (several applets have already been written with this API, they will only work with the 2.1.3 or above)
Many bugs have been fixed, here is a short list of the most important ones :
- Drop Indicator : fixed a bug that prevented icon glide when dragging an icon inside the dock with the mo
- fixed the bug with Weather that broke libxml's internal memory, preventing the VFS from working in all the dock
- GMenu : applied the patch to take into account the parameters of the Exec command
- removed show-desklets plug-in
- fixed a crash when stopping the Dbus plug-ins
- fixed a bug in keyboard indicator that crash the applet in 64 bits
- fixed a crash in xfce-integration when a path doesn't exist (unmounted points in Shortcuts)
- shortcuts : fixed the bug that broke the disk usage task
- correction of an infinite loop in Stack (when 2 items had same name)
- rewritten icon-effects with a backend architecture -> fixed an important memory leak
- ...
The branch lp:ubuntu/cairo-dock is ready to be uploaded (it has been already reviewed by an Ubuntu packager (Didrocks)).
