Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

Description: Ubuntu 9.10
Release: 9.10
gnome-screensaver: 2.28.0-0ubuntu3.3

Before the screenblanker kicks in, the screen fades to black. Most of the time it is possible to interrupt the fading by pressing a key on the keyboard or mouse and prevent the screenblanker to start. But there are times, when this just does not work and you have to wait for the fading to finish and deal with the screenblanker. This is just a major annoyance

While I never noticed this issue in previous releases, I am unable to interrupt the fading process in Maverick, no matter what I do. This is highly annoying and really needs to be fixed.

Like Eddie, I've only been having this problem since an upgrade to Maverick.
