Bug Description

After editing a correctly-displayed original, multiline text becomes one line in browsers, though still appearing correctly in Inkscape.

Difference in SVGs is that explicit xy coordinates were in each line's tspan in the original but not the edited copy. Both had linespacing in the text tag.

File edited with, and displays correctly in, Inkscape 0.47 r22583, but displays incorrectly in Firefox 3.5.7, Safari 4.0.3, Chrome 3.0.195.38, Opera 9.80, Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18702, on Windows XP. Original displays correctly in all.

Attached TestTextAp.zip has original SVG TestTextAp1.svg, edited TestTextAp2.svg (fixing a typo), and screenshots TestTextAp.png .

Original SVG was extracted using Inkscape from a more complex image created by
<!-- Generator: Adobe Illustrator 10, SVG Export Plug-In . SVG Version: 3.0.0 Build 76) -->

confirmed with Inkscape 0.47 r22583 on OS X 10.5.8:

both SVG files are rendered identically in Inkscape, but Batik 1.7 shows the same issue when rendering Inkscape's edited text: all text on the first line only.

No longer reproduced with Inkscape 0.48.0 r9654

The text in the attached file was edited and saved with 0.48, it displays the same in Firefox 3.6.8, Safari 5.0, Opera 10.61, Squiggle (Batik 1.7) and Inkscape.

Changed in inkscape:
milestone: none → 0.48
status: Confirmed → Fix Committed
