Bug Description
libpng and freetype aren't distributed with OSX, so we need to link statically to those libraries when building a binary distributable.
It'd be helpful if the build script did this out of the box.

Dropping this permanently. It makes more sense to link dynamically by defaut since that’s what people expect from libtool — even if that’s not what we do for our official binaries.
