Whereas now I can only see some subset (20 at a time or whatever)

Whereas now I can only see some subset (20 at a time or whatever). Maybe this is better as a custom report or something, but I would really like to see them all at once, ala Debian's BTS.

I think 500 bugs would be a reasonable balance between showing all bugs for a product and over-taxing the Launchpad server.

We can increase the batch size, but it has to be done slowly and carefully to find the sweet spot.

Every increase in the batch size will increase the number of OOPS timeouts. This is because ZPT is slow, and also because we often need to do several database queries to render each row.

We may be able to increase batch sizes to large numbers on certain pages when we have replaced the existing inefficient SQLObject based code with efficient SQLObject based code or hand crafted SQL queries to minimize the number of queries that need to be sent to the database server.

I believe this is now much more acceptable: the queries are now much simpler, the default batch sizes are much larger, and the end-user can customize using &batch=200 if he wants to.

And is there any way to discover that you can use ?batch=200?

I'm happy to see it does work.

If it's only semi-supported it might be a good item for a launchpad blog.
