after setting custom fonts quitting and starting again changes the fonts. I think this is the expected behavior?

This is still a problem in the 2.29.x series. However, you don't need to restart gwibber to get the updated settings, but you do need to refresh. We should really see the setting changed an re-render the webview without forcing a refresh.

Just to be clear, the issue here is that we need to make theme and visual setting changes take effect immediately. We have removed support for overriding the system font, and we do not intend to bring that specific feature back.
