Bug Description

This is a tracking bug for an SRU proposal for Karmic.

This problem has been reported in another distribution (F12) and has been discussed on the upstream mailing list.
The bug is a NULL pointer dereference that is a regression.
The attached patch is in the drm-next branch but is not yet in Linus's tree or in stable.
This patch has been applied for F12.

We don't have any reports of this but the bug looks sane and low risk.
