Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs

The three menus at the top left of the screen &mdash;<guimenu>Applications</guimenu>, <guimenu>Places</guimenu>, and <guimenu>System</guimenu>&mdash; contain most of the same things as the Start menu in Windows.

should be changed to:

Thanks for your report AJenbo, I fixed this in the Lucid dev branch. It appeared in both the 'windows' and 'switching' sections.

AJenbo, nowhere else in the docs do we use em-dashes (or an en-dash for that matter). A simple hyphen works fine as it is available on a standard keyboard.

Ok, a little odd that it was used in the first place, but I don't know English, or remember the role of the different charector, well enoug to insist on it any way :)

It's being used again here, and with the same issue.

Ubuntu is now being upgraded to version 10.04. This release is a long term support release, culminating two significant years of work. It will be supported for three years &mdash; until April, 2013.

ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu is a different package, not part of ubuntu-docs. In this case, just don't translate that part of the string. As far as I know, it's not invalid to use an em-dash.
