Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Rhythmbox freezes when I'm listening to my music library. I haven't been able to find a pattern to reproduce the bug, but I can't listen to music for an hour without the program freezing.

Ubuntu 9.10
rhythmbox: Installed: 0.12.5-0ubuntu5

Attached is gdb log.

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

Your gdb log is unusable, because there are many missing debug symbols. This means upstream has no possibility of getting this fixed. Please install the packages rhythmbox-dbg libgstreamer0.10-0-dbg libglib2.0-0-dbg libpulse0-dbg and try to get a new trace. If you can figure out how to reproduce the crash that would even be better. Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention the packages libgtk2.0-0-dbg libgnomevfs2-0-dbg. Please install those, too, before obtaining a new trace.

To workaround the issue, as explained in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=602957 :

Jonathan Matthew [rhythmbox developer] 2009-12-16 21:20:15 UTC

Enabling crossfading (edit->preferences, 'playback' tab) will stop this
happening.
