Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntuone-client

Having a cloud in the notification area right next to a weather applet showing other weather related things seems a bit weird to me. Is there perhaps a different metaphor that could be used? (like maybe to do with "One", or even a little ubuntu logo, since this is an ubuntu branded thing.)

This isn't an issue in ubuntuone-client. We don't have a cloud icon there. We have a hard disk icon with a tiny cloud emblem on it, though. The line-art cloud icon is part of the Humanity theme.

Another problem is that it has the ! in it for disconnected, which is confusing, as ! tends to denote an error of some sort requiring the user's attention. This should instead be changed to match the disconnected emblem of other panel icons.

The icon has been updated in the recent updates in lp:humanity

It now shows a folder with a cloud. And not just a simple cloud.

User's who find the present icon confusing can update from the lp:humanity. Not sure if this qualifies for an SRU .

@mac_v: Are you really sure the 'shadow' on the folder is necessary?
There are no shadows on NM icons, sound volume, bluetooth, indicator-applet(-session).

@Roman Yepishev :
Good point , icons updated.
But , do note that lp:humanity is currently being updated for Lucid and will have a lot more new icons and several old ones from the karmic release will change.
