e100_request_firmware fails with Karmic alternate cd (20091014.2).

Bug Description

The Karmic alternate cd (20091014.2) does not find my network. An image of the output from the F4 terminal is attached. It shows that e100_request_firmware fails to find the e100/d101s_ucode firmware file.

The computer is an IBM Thinkpad T21 with a mini-PCI NIC. The Karmic desktop cd works.

Just to check, as my original bug (#445522) was for the Karmic netboot image, that the changes made here will get rolled into that for release too?

Netboot issue confirmed fixed in http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/karmic/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/netboot.tar.gz version 20081029ubuntu70 dated 17th October, 2009. The network card used for the test was an embedded Intel Corporation 82557/8/9/0/1 Ethernet Pro 100 (rev 09).

This bug is awaiting verification that the kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-lucid' to 'verification-done-lucid'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.
