In my case the test for video-modes failes too, but i'm not on apple but ASUS x56TR notebook. Shoud i report different bug, or is this a general bug affecting all systems?

@Evertjan Garretsen: From the sheer number of reports of this bug, and the large variety of computer models affected, this doesn't seem like a hardware-specific (or even hardware-related) bug. See bug #427932 :)
