Bug Description

Binary package hint: ktimetracker

I've just installed ktimetracker and started it. The "Clock" and "Task" menus are empty. I added a new task but it didn't change anything.
Right-clicking on the new task also displays an empty contextual menu.

I'm running ubuntu netbook remix karmic beta. It was a new install, not an upgrade.

$ apt-cache policy ktimetracker

As a side note, forcefully installing (dpkg -i --force-all) ktimetracker 4.3.1-0ubuntu6 'fixes' the problem. I guess it must be a packaging issue.
I can be bothered to debug this if you need me to.

I'm running Kubuntu 9.10 amd64 updated daily.

Cheers!

Do you mean that there were errors during the install that prevented a successful installation?

Of course... We're installing ktimetracker 4.3.1 under KDE 4.3.2... Forcing installation does no harm though.

dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of ktimetracker:
 ktimetracker depends on libkdepim4 (= 4:4.3.1-0ubuntu6); however:
Version of libkdepim4 on system is 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu2.

I didn't have any installation error. I installed it with software center, but did a reinstall with apt-get and there was no error or warning either.
And it installed version 4.3.2.

Ah, missed the 4.3.1 part. This sounds like a regression for KDE 4.3.1, and I would recommend reporting this at bugs.kde.org as soon as possible.

I'd like to confirm this bug on using version 4.3.2. Forcing downgrade to 4.3.1 worked for me too.

I'm using Kubuntu 9.04 Jaunty amd64 version.

Downgraded via:

sudo dpkg -i --force-all ./ktimetracker_4.3.1-0ubuntu1~jaunty1~ppa2_amd64.deb
dpkg - warning: downgrading ktimetracker from 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu1~ppa1~jaunty1 to 4:4.3.1-0ubuntu1~jaunty1~ppa2.

dpkg: ktimetracker: dependency problems, but configuring anyway as you request:
 ktimetracker depends on libkdepim4 (= 4:4.3.1-0ubuntu1~jaunty1~ppa2); however:

I hate to pollute bugs with questions of this nature, but I really need to get ktimetracker working as I depend on it quite heavily to track my work. I'm running kubuntu 9.04 i386, where can I find a ktimetracker_4.3.1 jaunty deb? I've searched all the deb archives I can find and no luck.
