Thanks for the hint. Could you please provide some more information about your set-up (operating system and version, the version of Chrome that you are running). I will then try and reproduce the problem, so that I can fix it.

Just tried it in Google Chrome 4.0.211.2 on Ubuntu 9.04 and experienced the same problem.

the gap is exactly the width (or height) of the left (or top) black bar

Thanks for the additional information Arnaud! The bug is apparently due to a different implementation of the SVG DOM in Chrome (Webkit?). I found a way to make the drawing mode work as expected in Chrome and Firefox in Ubuntu. I expect that it will also work on Windows. I would like to spend a couple of days testing the fix. Afterwards, I will commit it to the repository on launchpad (just in case you want a preview). The fix will then be released in version 1.4.0 (or 1.3.2, depending on whether other bug surface).

Found some time to test the bug fix in Google Chrome 4.0.211.2, Opera 10.00 and Firefox 3.5.2 on Ubuntu 9.04. Everything seemed to work fine, so I commited it the trunk.
