python-central byte-compile fails in upgrades of many packages.

Binary package hint: python-central
This happened and has been going after I upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10 alpha 5.
Whenever I do sudo apt-get dist-upgrade, I get error messages as following:

SyntaxError: invalid syntax
pycentral: pycentral pkginstall: error byte-compiling files (17)
pycentral pkginstall: error byte-compiling files (17)
dpkg: error processing python-lazr-uri (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
followed by a LONG list of more error messages caused by dependency problems or similar ones as above. Find more details in the file attached.
This affects the upgrade/install of many packages, in my case, at these ones are among them:
