Bug Description

When importing a visual studio .NET project into monodevelop it crashes with a pkg-config error.

On inspection of the source code it looks for the mono.pc file with pkg-config. So for this functionality to work conrrectly libmono-dev must be installed.

This dependancy also applies to prj2make-sharp.

And could you upload a test file so I can reproduce it here? :)

This is actually the same bug reported: http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-mono-devel/2005-October/000472.html

Socket already in use
Will create project
filename:/home/smet/Projects/AccountSetupPages/AccountSetupPages.prjx
Error running pkg-config. Check the above output.

But I have tracked it down in code to the fact that not only does the proj2make-sharp package require pkg-config to work but also libmon-dev since it contians the relevant objects for this to work.

A project I worked on last year it is only the solution file so it will not import correctly however it should crash mondevelop if you do not have libmono-dev installed.

It has been somewhat over a year since the last response. Does it still occur in Dapper, Edgy or Feisty?

It doesn't crash for me on feisty with monodevelop 0.12+dfsg-1ubuntu1. Just the import error as expected from only having the sln file and no actual project.

I'm going to call this fix released since it works with the provided file as of 0.12+dfsg-1ubuntu1 (or possibly earlier)
