Bug Description

Currently the closing animation is set to "glide 2". There is little justification for that, as the closing experience is by no means a simple "reverse" of opening. When the user closes the window, he just expects it to go away quickly and smoothly, no "outroduction" is required. It is also particularly disruptive on slow machines (like Dell Mini 9) - the animation isn't very smooth and it gives the impression of the window randomly collapsing.

Changing the animation to quick (150ms) fade provides a much more elegant and smooth effect, and a better overall experience.

Really weird effect for a close though!

I think the decision was referring to the open animation, at that point
we didn't consider changing both. I strongly think the close should be
fade though (it's easy enough to test should anyone need more
convincing!) :)

Agreed, strange design decision, fade is far more suitable and elegant.

I made the change almost immediately.

Recommend looking into explaining this design decision and re-evaluating.
