i don,t have much idea of using ubuntu as i am very new to it. I am sorry i can't provide much information except that i use ubuntu 9.04 32 bit on a dell studio 1555 notebook. this error came up during update

Going from the dpkg log, this seems to have been caused by using Python 3.0 as the default Python interpreter. Could you confirm which versions of Python you have installed, and which is the default?
