Bug Description

I have user names displayed and it still displays actual names in the notifications that pop up. It looks fine in the window, just the notifications are affected. This would be in the 9.04 notification system on ubuntu.

Same issue on a debian squeeze. Gwibber version is 1.2.0.

Glad this has been reported, and thanks to Jamal Fanaian for the branch. However on my Ubuntu Karmic laptop it makes no difference; I have usernames in my messages but still real names in my notifications. I might have a look at the code if I have a spare minute.

Hi Sam,

Thanks for testing my branch. I wanted to see if you could confirm that you were using the gwibber-daemon from within this branch. Could you please make sure you don't have any other gwibber-daemon processes when you test this? Then, just start bin/gwibber-daemon from within this branch.

The notifications come from the daemon itself, instead of the clients, so I just wanted to make sure you were running the right daemon. Let me know if it still doesn't work and I will look into it further.

Thanks again!
Jamal

You were right! My system was launching the default ubuntu gwibber-daemon binary instead of the one from your branch. The fix does work properly after all.
