Bug Description

Quite often text files are tagged as executable for some reason. Examples include source code downloads, or copying over .tex files from a windows directory. When a user double clicks on such files, the system asks if we want to execute this file. Other options are run in terminal, display etc. I have seen many people get confused at this point what to do.

1). I think instead of display, it should say something like "Open". For me, display is just as obvious, but for many windows users, they want to "open" a file, not "display" it.

2). Maybe have a system wide setting, tagging all files of a certain kind to be opened by their prefered application (e.g. gedit for text files), even if they are tagged as executables. This will make many people happy. Right clicking on the file can give an option to run it if its tagged as executable.
