package svk (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite `/etc/bash_completion.d/svk', which is also in package bash-completion

Looks like the bash-completion package incorporated the svk completion file.

Attached is a debdiff to not generate /etc/bash-completion.d/svk; an svk package based on it is available in my ppa at https://launchpad.net/~sbeattie/+archive/ppa/. I verified that the package installs and that tab completion worked.

Note that this is an Ubuntu specific bug, as the upstream debian package does not include /etc/bash-completion.d/svk.

Based on feedback from Chris Coulson, attached is the corresponding patch to bash-completion to add a replaces/conflict with the older versions of svk that provide /etc/bash_completion.d/svk.

Bah, I shouldn't try to make packaging fixes on a friday night; attached is the bash-completion debdiff with a non-~ppa version string in the changelog. (I tested both the svk and bash-completion fixes in my ppa at https://launchpad.net/~sbeattie/+archive/ppa) Sorry for the excess noise.

This bug was fixed in the package svk - 2.2.1-0ubuntu2

svk was removed from lucid. Therefore we do not have to change bash-completion.

I took the debdiff from comment #5, changed the version from 1:1.0-3ubuntu3 to 1:1.0-3ubuntu2.1, change the target from karmic to karmic-proposed, and uploaded it.

Accepted bash-completion into karmic-proposed, the package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!

SRU verification for Karmic:
I have reproduced the problem with bash-completion 1:1.0-3ubuntu2 in karmic and have verified that the version of bash-completion 1:1.0-3ubuntu2.1 in -proposed fixes the issue.
I have verified that the conflict is correctly handled between version of svk older than 2.2.1-0ubuntu1 and bash-completion in -proposed.
