Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs

The instruction given is : Chose System > Quit and select Lock
Screen. This is not available as it has been removed and replaced
under the switch users or shut down icon on the upper panel.

Suggesting that adding a Lock screen Icon to the panel is just adding
needless clutter to the panel and duplicating the function.

Ubuntu 9.04
Described action was not available

Hi Ian,

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. I will create a patch which should fix these problems.
Since Fast Switch User applet is installed by default in Jaunty, the instruction should describe it instead of locking sreen via System menu. On the other hand this option will be activated when switch user applet has been removed from panel, so I suggest to mention about it. Maybe instead of note about Lock screen applet, although in my opinion user should be informed about such option as well.

Changed in ubuntu-docs (Ubuntu):
assignee: nobody → Artur Szymanski (arteek)
status: New → In Progress

I've replaced locking screen menu based instruction to the User Switcher. I've also decided to leave note about Lock Screen applet unchanged, becuase in my opinion this is a hint for user rather than instruction.
Ian, do you agree with above?

That is fine by me. My remark was only made as it was a duplication of effort. I suppose that there might be someone who wants it as a stand alone item.
