Oh, god. Yeah, there's a bug in the latest version of duplicity, that I meant to patch in our PPA (which I assume you're using). This should only affect new backups, not continued backups.

I'll try to fix this tonight.

ok thank you for your reactivity
I'm trying to transpose deja-dup on distribution Frugalware. Since the time I try ;-)

I uploaded new duplicity packages with a patch for the issue from upstream to the PPA. Anyone that isn't using the PPA either has to revert to duplicity 0.5.15 or manually apply the patch from http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/duplicity-talk/2009-04/msg00068.html.

Jean-Philippe (from bug 368456), can you update your system?

See which version of duplicity you have installed (dpkg -s duplicity | grep Version). If you have jaunty1, you will hit this bug. But it should be fixed in jaunty2.

Although, you mentioned that you're using deja-dup 9.1, so you seem to have updated very recently...

Ugh, how many times can I screw this up! -0jaunty2 didn't fix it. I added the patch, but did not tell the package to *apply* it. Will fix in a few hours.

Hello Michael and thanks you for your rapid answer !

So far, so good, seems that I'm using jaunty2 :

dpkg -s duplicity | grep Version
Version: 0.5.16-0jaunty2
Python-Version: 2.6

Hence, regarding your answer I guess that all I need is some patience
right now ;-)

Thanks !

While this is fixed for people using the Deja-Dup PPA, it is not for those using Ubuntu's repositories. This issue seems to have been fixed in duplicity 0.5.17, but the latest version in Karmic is 0.5.16-1ubuntu1.
