Bug Description

Dell Latitude D600 dist-upgraded from breezy to dapper today
Boot gets as far as /etc/rcS.d/S08loopback and hangs
Further investigation reveals that ifup is bringing up the lo device and then attempting to talk to something through it, but failing and so sitting in a loop retrying.
Interrupting it will continue the boot process normally and everything appears to work (including talking to localhost), but then zeroconf does a similar thing and eats CPU.

An strace of ifup hanging (pid 4067 seems to be the one that gets stuck in a loop)

Looking again more closely I think this might actually be entirely zeroconf related as it seems that it's the /etc/network/if-up.d/zeroconf-up call to zeroconf that's getting stuck

I removed the zeroconf package and now the machine boots completely normally
