crash when assigning a distro task

Bug Description

I tried to assigned ubuntu as the distribution, and after having chosen the distribution and source package, validating led to a crash.

Marking this as a duplicate of #4845 on the basis that it seems that both of them stem from a lack of validation for distribution targets.
