Bug Description

Binary package hint: irssi

irssi (0.8.12-6ubuntu1) jaunty; urgency=low

  * Merge from Debian unstable (LP: #), Ubuntu remaining changes:
    - Added debian/patches/90irc-ubuntu-com.dpatch
    - debian/patches/03firsttimer_text:
      + Adapt it so it tells you about connecting to irc.ubuntu.com and
        joining #ubuntu instead of irc.debian.org and #debian.
        New with this merge: We now also apply this patch.
    - debian/irssi.perm: Don't remove alternative on upgrades.

irssi (0.8.12-6) unstable; urgency=low

  * New patch:
    - mode-display-fix: Fix mode display in whois with unreal (379 numeric).
      (upstream svn r4637, bug #479)
  * Updated patch:
    - perlembed-fix: The initial approach wasn't completely clean, it got
      revised by upstream.

 Please drop the debian/irssi.perm[sic] file. It's ancient and shouldn't be needed anymore. Originally this patch was added because the prerm did do things in a wrong way - but that was in some older release(s), both in Debian and Ubuntu - the need for doing that isn't there anymore unless you want to support upgrades from historic ancient releases.

 Thanks. :)

We need to support Hardy->Next LTS. Hardy has 0.8.12-3ubuntu3, not sure if
that's good enough for dropping the change.

 The alternative handling got removed in 0.8.10-2, that's prehistoric in
any sense :) So hardy doesn't set the alternative anymore as it's based
on my work that started with 0.8.12-1.

 So long!
